My Kid's Wishlist

My little girl is obsesses with Only Hearts club Toys! Who can blame her, these dolls and stuffed animals are adorable. She told me the other day she has narrowed it down to ten of them. She makes me laugh. I did find them online on sale so I think I may get half of what she is asking for. She also wants a bunch of clothes, cell phone and television. Wow! I look back when I was a kid and remember getting a couple barbies and a board game if I was a good girl. I'm just glad that I have a job and use my budgeting skills to get my kid's what they really want for Christmas!

A Place to Call Our Own

We just moved into our first real home and I wanted to decorate with some new furniture. I think I will start on my little girls room first. This is something I'm really excited about so I'm really taking some time to find some nice baby furniture, baby bedding and artwork for her room. She has light pale walls and I thought putting up some nice mirrors or piece3s of children's artwork would be nice. The closet is huge so all her toys and clothes will definitely be stored in there. The next room will probably be the living room where we spend most for our time in. I found a really great deal on a huge floor rug and sectional so I think it will work out great. I'm just so excited to finally have a place we can call our own and spend our years growing up and adding things to it that we can love! Thank goodness I'm home again! Yay!

Sign of the Times

Do you wonder about the economy and how much worse it can get? I sure do and being a business owner much less a home owner it can be overwhelming with worry. Making a list of things that can be given up is one of my ways of trying to cut costs. Clipping coupons, hitting discount stores like Walmart, and rearranging some things at home. The little things like turning off lights or the computer when not in use can help with the electric bill. Taking shorter showers, and doing less laundry is also and option. A friend of mine who owns a large warehouse company has invested in some affordable high baby lights to replace her costly lighting system. She has noticed a drop in her bill which helped in saving some much needed money. Whatever we can do in the way of saving money, is almost a way of life these days. Hopefully the economy will turn around and we can loosen the laces a little. Having to worry day to day on what we will eat is a little scary. I just feel for all the people who are out of work. I can't even imagine what worries are on their shoulders. I pray that this soon passes!
